Château Minuty Prestige Rosé 2023
Château Minuty Prestige Rosé 2023
Winery Background and History
Château Minuty, a Cru Classé estate since 1955 on the Saint‑Tropez peninsula, has been family‑owned (Farnet–Matton) since 1936. Its vineyards are distributed across terroirs of schist, clay, and sand, bathed in Mediterranean breezes. In 2023, LVMH acquired a majority stake, further investing in estate quality and global reach while preserving Minuty’s Provençal heritage .
Producer and Wine Maker
Winemaking is led by Jean‑Étienne, François, and Anne‑Victoire Matton. For the Prestige cuvée, they hand-pick grapes early and immediately press under CO₂ protection. Only free-run juice (~65–70%) is used, fermented cool, with no malolactic to preserve finesse. Blending occurs in November to achieve balance .
Vineyards and Micro Climate
Fruit is sourced from multiple estate sites in Provence, planted on schist, clay, and sandy soils at low elevation. The Mediterranean climate—warm, sunny days and cooling coastal breezes—yields vibrant acidity, red fruit character, and saline tension .
Vinification & Aging Methods
The process includes gentle pressing of free-run juice, cool-temperature alcoholic fermentation, followed by a brief lees contact before bottling. No secondary fermentation (no malo) ensures purity and freshness .
Tasting Notes
Pale peach-pink, shimmering and clear. Aromas of tart red fruits—strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant—plus apricot and subtle salinity. The palate is crisp and mineral-focused, with tidal notes of blood orange, yellow grapefruit, and finishing clean and saline .
Food & Wine Pairing
Versatile and food-friendly: pairs well with oysters, ceviche, sushi, grilled seafood, Provencal vegetables, charcuterie, tartines, and light Italian dishes like spaghetti alle vongole .
Service Methods and Temperatures
Serve well-chilled at 8–10 °C in tulip or medium white glass to retain aromatics and mineral expression. No decanting needed—allow a few minutes of air exposure after opening ().
Storage and Aging Potential
Ideal within 2023–2025, though it may keep freshness through 2026 in cool, upright storage (10–12 °C). Best consumed in youth to retain its lively tension ().
