Winery Background and History

Established in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, Moët & Chandon quickly rose to prominence and remains part of LVMH today. Its NV Rosé Impérial, created in 1996, embodies the Maison’s vivacious, fruit-forward style and elegant maturity, offering a romantic and spontaneous pink expression.

Producer and Wine Maker

Under Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez and a tasting panel, the blend is crafted from 40–50% Pinot Noir (including ~10% red still wine), 30–40% Pinot Meunier, and 10–20% Chardonnay, supported by 20–30% reserve wines for consistency and depth.

Vineyards and Micro Climate

Fruit originates from Champagnes’ Grand and Premier Cru sites across Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. The region’s chalky soils, oceanic influence, and sizable diurnal temperature shifts foster vibrant acidity, minerality, and bright red-fruit character. ()

Vinification & Aging Methods

Fermentation occurs in stainless steel, with ~10% of Pinot Noir and some Meunier aged in oak for texture. After blending with reserves, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation and lees aging in bottle before dosage, finishing at around 9 g/L.

Tasting Notes

Striking salmon pink with a fine satin mousse. Aromas burst with wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry, rose petals, and a hint of pepper. Flavours include juicy red berries, watermelon rind, toasted biscuit, and menthol‑tinged minerals, with a bright, persistent finish.

Food & Wine Pairing

Excellent as an aperitif or paired with sushi, shellfish, grilled fish, poultry, charcuterie, and lightly spiced dishes. Its vivid fruitiness and minerality also complement berry‑based desserts. ()

Service Methods and Temperatures

Serve chilled at 8–10 °C in a tulip- or white-wine glass to concentrate aromas and preserve mousse. No decanting needed; a gentle swirl enhances the bouquet.

Storage and Aging Potential

Best enjoyed within 3–5 years of release. Proper cellar conditions (9–12 °C, 70–80% humidity, darkness) can preserve freshness and structure up to five years.
